Another Clevedon gig club trip took the blue force down to Appledore this weekend, to race against clubs such as Ilfracombe, Bude and Barnstaple amongst many others.

The first race of the day was kicked off with the A crews taking to the water. Men finishing in eighth and women storming back in fourth. It was Clevedon conditions with the calm water favouring their style of rowing, an opportunity they took to show their stamina and technique as they pipped boats to the boys and sped back down on the home straight.

The B crews went next, again holding up a great battle against the other boats. Men finishing in fifth place and women in seventh.

It was the Under 14’s that brought Clevedon the glory this weekend, once again holding a strong race and separating themselves from the rest of the boats to return to the docks in true style and elegance in first place! The under 16’s also maintained the great performance and had a fantastic row, finishing third.

Next the experienced rowers entered the racing course, with the ladies vets coming in seventh and the men pulling hard to finish in fourth.

Last but not least it was time for the mixed race, always a race that is fun to finish on and one that brings great cohesiveness amongst crews and clubs. Clevedon did well in this, holding up a good battle and finishing off their big tens in fourth place. We say… let the racing continue!
