Teignmouth Regatta 2017

The sun came out for us down on the South Devon coast this weekend. Despite a brisk offshore breeze the sea was calm making for near perfect racing conditions, although the last stretch of the kite shaped course was a bit of a slog into the wind. Clevedon turned out in force, with 30 rowers entering 9 of the 11 categories with only Ladies' A and Under 14s missing.

The racing was tight and competitive, making for some valuable experience in how to get round turns while being squeezed at either side for some of our less battle-hardened racing coxes! Clevedon competed well, mostly finishing mid-table, with highlights being a third place in Ladies B, and a second in the U16 race, with three under 14s, two of whom were at their first regatta! The junior boys were also joined by an adult rower in the Men's C race for a crack at an adult race, finishing a respectable 7th.
